Give Me Back My Bottom Search Box, Google

While everyone was going crazy over Google’s Instant Search (meh it’s okay), the entire Internet seems to have missed that a key feature was removed; the bottom Search Box at the end of a search results page.
Before

After

In a world where people near rioted because the Digg Upcoming feature got removed, how is there not an uproar for the missing bottom search box? In my opinion Google has lost an important part of their usability.
I believe Google will never know exactly what I’m thinking. At least, not anytime soon. After scanning an entire page worth of results, I determine whether my search was adequate enough and requires more tweaking or more specificity. So, I refine that search in the bottom box, logically. I don’t want to scroll up to the top of the page to do that.
But that bottom search box is gone. There’s not even a jump button to get me back to the box. Just because Google got faster at returning results, doesn’t mean that Google got better at returning results. Sometimes I need to read through the 10 results to understand if something “went wrong” or to otherwise realize necessary keyword adjustments to receive the results I need.
I think it’s time to campaign for the return of the bottom search box. Who wants to help?
